Picnic With a Pilot

Picnic with a pilot at open cockpit days at flying leatherneck aviation museum san diegoThe Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum launched its first “Picnic With A Pilot” series June 8, 2013 during Open Cockpit Days .

Each presentation lasts 30 – 45 minutes with a 15 minute Q&A period.

Saturday, July 27th at 11:00 am

Aviation heritage professor and author of Call to Glory, George Haloulakos, will be giving a tour and speak on the Harrier jump jet, vertical takeoffs and landings, and USMC humanitarian missions. Article on USMC humanitarian missions written by Mr. Haloulakos.

Saturday, August 24th at 11:00 am

Colonel Stephen “Fozzy” Acosta, F/A 18 pilot and commanding officer of VMFAT 101. Colonel Acosta’s bio.

Brigadier General Michael Aguilar (USMC-retired) will discuss his experiences flying the Cobra attack helicopter.  General Aguilar’s bio.
