USMC Aviation History Research Center and Assistance
Accessing the Research Center :
The Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum is proud to host scholarly researchers at its Research Center . The Research Center consists of more than 1,000 books, thousands of photographs, and additional materials related to Marine Corps aviation and its history.
The USMC Aviation Research Center at the Flying Leatherneck Museum does not lend out materials. It is usually available to the public by appointment but is temporarily closed at this time.
Submitting a Research Request:
The staff of the Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum has in-depth knowledge of USMC aviation history and an extensive network of sources. The resource center will be moving with the museum to the new location in Great Park, Irvine, CA. Target date for reopening is August 2023.
Due to the relocation efforts the staff is currently unable to fulfill research requests.
