Donors, sponsors, and volunteers have always been at the heart of the Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum and its foundation, the Flying Leatherneck Historical Foundation.
For more than 20 years, the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar graciously provides us with the space and facilities necessary to house our exhibits and offices. Due to budgetary constraints, the USMC closed the museum at MCAS Miramar in April 2021. However, USMC leadership agreed to keep the USMC-owned collection intact for a limited period of time to give the foundation the opportunity to raise funds necessary to take over operation of the museum and transport the aircraft and artifacts to a new location.
The museum will not continue to exist without the generous contributions of supporters like you. Through donations, the foundation is seeking to relocate the aircraft and artifacts to their proposed new home in Hangar 296, Great Park, Irvine, CA….the original MCAS El Toro and location of where the museum was founded.
There are a number of different ways to contribute to our museum — donations, sponsorships, programs, and memberships.
