2018 Essay Contest Winners Announced

Theme “Who is your hero and why? Annual contest that helps encourage thinking and writing skills while as they address core values of the US Marine Corps and our society.

The Board of Directors and staff of the Flying Leatherneck Historical Foundation, the docent team of the Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum and the staff of the Character Education Resource Center of the University of San Diego are pleased to announce the winners of the Fall 2018 essay contest.  

The Middle School Division winning essays are:

FIRST PLACE: Erica Persano, Woodland Park Middle School, San Marcos. Submitted by Laura Whitney.

SECOND PLACE: Brandon Torres, Heber School, Heber. Submitted by Gabriela Sosa.

THIRD PLACE: Luke Renda, R. Roger Rowe Middle School, Rancho Santa Fe. Submitted by Elaine Dolnack.
