2019 Essay Contest Winners Announced
Theme “Who is your hero and why?
Annual contest helps develop student thinking and writing skills while addressing core values of the US Marine Corps and our society.
The Board of Directors and staff of the Flying Leatherneck Historical Foundation, the docent team of the Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum and the staff of the Character Education Resource Center of the University of San Diego are pleased to announce the winners of the 2019 Fall/Winter essay contest.
The Middle School Division winning essays are:
FIRST PLACE: Julia Peavey, Correia Middle School, San Diego. Submitted by John Snedden.
SECOND PLACE: Torrey Egan, Woodland Park Middle School, San Marcos. Submitted by Laura Whitney.
THIRD PLACE: Nevin Steinbuch, Saint Kieran Catholic School, El Cajon. Submitted by Liane White.
The High School Division winning essays are:
