First-place winner Jocelyne, illustrates the courageous actions her mother has taken to keep her children safe and focused on education and their futures. Jocelyne reflects that her mother’s attitude and actions have made it possible for her to imagine a great future for herself. “My mother always told us that our history does not define us.”
