The Irene Ferguson Marine Wife Recognition Award honors and highlights the resiliency, strength and dedication of women married to active duty Marines as they support our military, communities and nation. In today’s podcast we delve into the purpose of the award and the history of its creation by WW2 Marine pilot, Major Glenn Ferguson (USMC retired), in memory of his beloved wife, Irene.
Friends and family members are urged to nominate a woman married to an active duty Marine in the Southwest region to be recognized. Awardees are given a $1500 cash award, ceremony and other gifts.
